I use WinAero Tweaker and it is amazing. It is a program that gives you the ability to change the settings in the ‘Advanced appearance settings’ and it even allows you to assign a new picture to the title bar.
If I use ‘System Settings’ in WinAero Tweaker to change the accent color or the font size in any of the menus or on the buttons, the custom settings apply automatically in the ‘Advanced appearance settings’ window. I have found this to be very useful, especially when I changed the font size in the title bar. The font in the title bar changes automatically and it works perfectly with all Windows programs that can be customized. Unfortunately, WinAeroTweaker will not allow you to change the color of the title bar, which is a huge drawback. The title bar uses the Operating System color, which in my case is very white and I am never satisfied with it. Also, when I open the app after installation, it closes automatically after about 2 seconds. If I right-click and select open now, I get a message that says “The program ‘WinaeroTweaker.Program’ is not functioning. Windows cannot start the program, or it has stopped working.”

Once you have the Windows 10 build 1809 (or higher) pre-release, install Winaero Tweaker again, but this time it should work as expected. If you prefer to use the updates, you still need to wait a few weeks, but it might be more convenient to install a pre-release version of Windows 10.

If you have this issue, try again installing Windows 10 Professional from a fresh install. If that also doesn’t work, try updating to a pre-release version of the OS. After installing this pre-release version of Windows, Winaero Tweaker should now install and work. If you already have Windows 10 Enterprise installed, try installing it’s pre-release version and repeat the steps above. Improvements to the Winaero Tweaker installer itself. I have included some screenshots of my results below. I had to disable automatic updates, since I was getting the error I posted in the last email. Below, in the list of updates the “Winaero Tweaker” icon ” ” is yellow. There is no longer a shortcut to it on the desktop. The actual shortcut for Winaero Tweaker is now under “Windows/Start menu”. So when you click “Windows/Start menu” it takes you to the “Winaero Tweaker” shortcut. If this is the case for you, you can safely re-enable automatic updates, as Winaero Tweaker will install normally. However, if this does not work for you, see my note below where I posted that I had to disable automatic updates. I also added an extra manual step where, after installing Winaero Tweaker, I have to restore a registry key.

When I installed Tweaker in the old Vista days, it used the same theme engine as Explorer (namely, Skins2), not the new Win10 one. So it means nothing that those themes are no longer compatible. However, I did some exploring and found out that, even though they are incompatible, Notepad++ has full support for Skins2 themes on the new Win10 operating system. I was able to apply these Skins2 themes to notepad++, and now, notepad++ is perfectly compliant with Win10. I just need to find a way to make Tweaker use Skins2 for theme compatibility. There is a way to change your User-theme (user-color-theme), and sounds like there is a way to change your Wallpaper (so that it has more colors and is more changeable). If someone has the solution for changing your wallpaper, then that would be great, then you could have a toggle to switch between wallpapers on/off, and each wallpaper would be customizable as well. Then, you could have custom-made window-decorations to give you some (or all) of the functionality of a good-looking Windows 10 build.
