Enhancements to the UI
There are new UI elements such as progress bars for each filter. The left panel shows global filters and details about the currently selected filter. The right panel shows the details about each specific filter.
**Update: I heard from someone who used both AviSynth and VapourSynth to repair a non-viable video from his DSLR. The repair was a success and he could use the output for editing. This is not a perfect solution, as the output was repaired rather than enhanced. And, the effects of noise and grain do not look like the good results I get from the AI options in Topaz Video Enhance AI. However, it is a reliable solution.
**Update: I did manage to get the file to load in vsynth when using AviSynth, but VapourSynth could not open the file (vsynth does not support jobs like VapourSynth). I should have also tried tavis-upscaling.net since that app has AviSynth built-in and could probably handle it. Unfortunately, the output does not look as good as with AviSynth. My impression is that AviSynth can produce videos with an increased frame rate that is usually difficult to achieve with VapourSynth and Topaz. I still expect AviSynth to be superior for those who have access to it and are willing to spend the time optimizing the output. My previous impression of VapourSynth is that it is often faster than AviSynth. I tried tavis-upscaling.net a few months ago and was pleased with the results. However, I tested only one scene, and since that test, the developer has released a new version that is not as good as vatvd.net.
A new setting called Bicubic is easier to use and produces better results than the default option of Zoom in scale. I tested Bicubic on a copy of my 4K UHD file that I had rescaled with Topaz 4.0.0, and the result is shown below:

Thats really all I can tell you. If I find other upsampling tools that work for me, Ill add them to this article and leave the back page up. I will also continue to update this article with more references and samples. I just have no interest in convincing you to spend money on Topaz. I will just let you decide for yourself.
While I’ve been impressed with the various models in the Dione family, I still recommend taking the time to do your own basic video processing if you want to take advantage of the powers of a big upscaling engine. Even if you only do a little post-processing, you can be surprised by the difference a little pre-processing can make. I prefer to do basic deinterlacing, color space conversion, and cropping, although you could get by with just color space conversion. A basic video editing tool like the free VLC Player allows you to crop, modify, and trim to do a better job of improving a video than anything else in the Topaz family. If you arent trying to get maximum quality out of video, an extra couple of minutes processing can make an extra noticeable improvement in clarity or a better final product than a single run through a digital upscaler.
The best way to use Topaz VEAI or Cupscale is to run them on the actual video you want to upscale. Make sure that all of the video in your source and destination videos is not too small. If the largest video is 4200 or 4400 pixels, then I wouldnt bother with the program at all. I also recommend creating destination videos in a sRGB color space rather than going for a more aggressive profile like Adobe RGB. The Dione upscalers are good at handing out high quality and will work with almost anything, but these controls include things like pixel aspect ratio and 3:2 pulldown support which you might not need or want if you are upscaling video for web-video or something with a unique aspect ratio. Topaz VEAI and Cupscale also require you to resize the video before you start processing, so they will not work on a video with a source and destination that are not the same dimensions. Any upscaling process can lose data, so you need to be sure to use the best settings possible.

What is Topaz Video Enhance AI 2.6.4 good for?
I have a good feeling about Topaz Video Enhance AI Serial Key 2.6.4. It takes a lot of the guesswork and hassle out of video upscaling and provides access to a small, but rich, library of user-created models, many of which are network-based. They are, quite simply, one of the most affordable and pleasant video conversion tools available for archival and general image enhancement. Along with TVEAI, this should be on your toolbox next to your archiving tools.
As with TVEAI, you can choose to start the video or video sequence from the beginning, just before the decompression window and proceed. Depending on the size of the original video, this might require multiple passes. Unlike TVEAI, the Video Enhancement API allows you to start editing operations within the upscaling window and has some additional editing tools available.
I recommend that you NOT make use of this software unless you have had experience with similar applications. Topaz doesnt offer any statistical analysis of the results or pointers for improving. Sometimes you find quality when you back up its “Magic Curves” to low opacity, sometimes you dont. Its best to experiment and build up your own experience. Avoid spending a month of your life trying to tweak settings when a 20-minute introduction to the software will do it.
I would say that Topaz AVI 2.5 isnt half bad, but TVEAI 2.0 is pretty much a total bust. Its too expensive for what it does and is subject to the same issues Ive discussed in the article. I did run into a real problem with upscaling in Full HD videos where I decided to repair damaged material in the original file. Ive written about upscaling in a previous article on this site. This article is now focused on upscaling to low resolution, so theres little overlap here.
