My PC is always running slow, and I’ve been going through a lot of data from this and other computers to find what is causing it, but haven’t found anything. Anyway, I uninstalled CPUZ and the virus, but when I restarted my PC, CPUZ had reappeared. I have no idea how it got back, but it’s there in spite of me trying to get rid of it. I have been updating my PC from the regular virus and anti-virus updates and they don’t seem to be able to get rid of it. How can I get rid of CPUZ without the virus? I tried to remove it manually, but can’t because it exists as a system file. How can I get rid of it and disable it?

When I first installed CPUZ it showed up in the notification area on my screen, and it was working just fine. But then I restarted, and the file wouldn’t show up in the notification area. I restarted in Safe Mode, clicked “Show hidden files”, found a folder called “Explorer.exe” – and there was the file CPUZ again. But then it wouldn’t open after that. It just stayed there. I rebooted, and the file didn’t show up. I thought it might be a virus, so I installed the ESET Anti-Virus software, but it wouldn’t see the file. I tried uninstalling CPUZ, restarting in Safe Mode, cleaning the registry and system files, and then restarting in Safe Mode. It didn’t work.

I went to the Amd website for the motherboard I use, took the part number of the CPU, and typed it into the search bar at cpu-z and a list of others with the same part number displayed. I selected the amd/cpu-z from the list to load. For the save button on the next page to load, i pressed enter too. After it asked me where to save and i selected my desktop, it said something about i need to reinstall. I checked and no cpuz had been installed.

I already have CPUZ and when I tried to load it I get the error: “Cannot open image” without being able to get to the option to cancel. I’ve tried searching for solutions but haven’t found anything useful.

I ran the version for Windows on the old PC, and that version did not detect the RAM I just put in, but this version detects it, so if I start using the new RAM in the future, it should continue to work. Well I downloaded the version for Windows 7. When I go to the right click on the CPU-Z icon on the desktop to run it, it does not launch or load. The icon is in the system tray and starts fine if I double click the icon but when I try to launch from the desktop icon it does not happen. If I navigate to my desktop, right click the CPU-Z icon, and then press open, it’s opening fine. Just curious why the icon on the desktop would not launch unless I navigate to the desktop and then open it from there. Nothing like what happens on my old Windows XP computer. It works fine when run from Start.
