The issue is how the plug-in is supposed to know to keep the linked Revit model visible, and display the renderings. The way in which the LiveSync plug-in works is to look for changes in the link on the Revit model. If the application running the render is changed, the plug-in will automatically refresh the model in the application, and do so by creating new links to the model in the application. 

The issue, however, is that even though Revit is able to make changes to the link in the application, if these changes are made and the render is clicked to look at the model, the render disappears. It simply looks liked the model was no longer linked, and was simply being displayed within the application. 

How do I know this? I have tested this software on multiple Revit installations at the same time as well as simultaneously rendering multiple models at the same time, and the problem appears to be specific to Revit. 

This is what you need: 1. Download Lumion LiveSync. 2. Download Revit LiveSync. 3. Sign into your Autodesk Account in Lumion 8.3 or newer. 4. On the File menu, click Link Models, and then click LiveSync.

Hi Amy, it’s not possible to edit the Revit model in Lumion via the LiveSync function. You can modify the Revit model via the drag and drop function via the Export Links window, or by exporting from Revit to SketchUp. This is a good app. Unfortunately when I move a Revit part into Lumion, the object disappears from the Lumion drawing. I can find it in the Lumion bin but I can’t bring it back into my Revit model, even with the “rebind” option to re-attach. The documentation says rebinding means when you create a dependent object in Lumion, Revit tells Lumion to rebind this object to your Revit model. When you move a Revit object into a sketch you need to rebind to Lumion. I keep getting an error message when I try to do this, but no error message when I just move it into a sketch. Lumion should be able to find it when it rebinds, no?

I was using Revit Render with LiveSync for a while, but then I was trying to have a software render using Vray and after adding the LiveSync component to my project, it always crashed with the message “The file couldn’t be opened because the file format or file extension is not valid. ” I re-installed my Revit Rendering Model again, then I started to read a few tips about the LiveSync component, but there isn’t any way to make it work with Vray. I reinstalled Revit 2016, Lumion 2018, Revit Render 19.0.0 and Vray, but I can’t make it work with any of them. Anyone with the same problem?
