I recommend starting with a brushstroke for each main material part of a volume object (i.e. not so much on each bone, because you want the fill-in to appear much like those naturally-occurring areas of missing-density) and then later use surface shading and other effects to finish the painting.

Radeon RX 5900 Series cards stable, but GPU performance still much worse than that of GeForce RTX cards. While our previous testing of the Radeon RX 6000 Series was largely successful, in this latest release, we ran into some issues with both the Radeon RX 5900 Series and the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti. Specifically, a lot of users are experiencing instability issues after installing and trying to run Metashape. That said, in our testing, the Radeon RX 5900 Series was far more stable than the RX 6000 Series. On the Radeon side, we saw huge improvements in video processing quality in Scene View from previous tests, along with improved performance in Maximum and Average FPS and GPU Clock (although it should be noted that that the VRAM was not throttled in these tests).

As far as the new features go, they are almost entirely UI/UX oriented. This could be seen as a good thing, as Metashape 1.7.0 focuses on making the program easier to use and intuitive. Each new UI feature or change to the workflow is a step forward, but, while several of these improvements should be welcome, they are not revolutionary.

Additional features in 1.7.0 include: new CPU scaling (for those who need it), a new profiler, great improvements in image color control, and a major overhaul of the UI for YCbCr color space conversion.

Specifically, the Radeon RX 5700 XT is looking like the best possible video card right now for a situation like this, as it outperforms the GeForce RTX 2060 for $150 or so, and has enough graphics power to allow you to run a lot of software without bottlenecking it. Set the recommended resolution for each image. A low-resolution image is less processor-intensive and can be used to define the coordinates of a large number of points. Be careful with over-saturation. If you choose this option, you need to have enough time to acquire images of higher quality.

Check that all images are in focus. Not every surface of an object is in focus. It is therefore important to check the focal length of your camera. Pointing and focusing the camera is a simple process. Press the button on your camera which locks the focal length and quickly move the lens to the desired position.

Use measurements and results to decide on camera settings. You should also check if your working area is dark. Work in a well-lit area with plenty of light and avoid direct light which can cause cast shadows on your work. Do not use lighting aids such as red or blue lights if possible. It is possible to correct them in post processing.

If the latter is the case, you can isolate them with the workflow tools, for example use the mosaic tool to isolate and combine objects.
